white/grey puffs of smoke sometimes while cruisin?

So I've been noticing that sometimes my truck blows a little whitish puff of smoke sometimes when I'm just cruisin along the highway. Since I have a hood stack I can see everything thats comin out of my exhaust. It only puffs it sometimes and its just a little puff but it seems to do it a little more when pulling a hill. It runs fine and doesn't sputter or anything, but sometimes it will do a little black puff too. I don't know if its just burning hotter at one point and burning some carbon out or what? Or is it an air bubble? or my timing? or is my head gasket leaking a little? (my oil and coolant look fine and are staying up) I don't know, it hasn't bothered me but sometimes it puffs a little and makes me wonder what it is. Could be normal on other trucks too but I can see it up close and personal on my truck so was kinda curious. My truck does haze quite a bit while idling and especially in the cold. Any ideas? or is it normal?

Could be, I have a backhoe that does the same thing. Under power I get a puff every once and a while. I suspect its injector related. It runs very well so I have not looked into it. I usually don't worry till fire blows out of what ever I am running.

Now that I think of it we have a case backhoe that does the same thing. Its a p pumped 4bt but it'll puff black puffs sometimes. Only black and not white ones like my truck though.

My truck does seem to run good it just kinda made me wonder what was goin on. It seems to haze at idle a lot more than It used to but I also am runnin a lot more timing. Could this be harmful to my motor or what should I do? Just don't wanna burn it down from a bad injector. All of my temps and everything seem to be running normal.

are you running much cleaner periodically? run a heavy concentrate of lucas cleaner, 16-24 oz pr 20 gallons, a little atf to the cocktail, for the direct injection pstrokes, ive sold all of the owners on hot shots secret, ps injectors fire with hi pressure oiling system, highly prone to contamination, with 1500.-3000. repair estimates, a 100. fuel and oil treatment will recover injectors to normal. its very concentrated, and probably not neccessary for the mechanical injector, but it works very well, ive wondered in the case of the problem smokin 1st gen, its worthy of trying, just to see how much it could help. anyone else tried it?

If your injectors are leaking fuel or poppin early it could cause a burnt piston.
