starting issue
I just put a new injector pump and piston pump on. It is a little hard to start when it sits over night and it blows a lot of white smoke. It still blows white smoke when it is all the way warm. I can't find any fuel leaks. Is it possible that my timing is to advanced? The marks line up, but is it possible that my gear skipped a tooth or two? It sounds a little clanky when its in gear, but not when it is in park or nuetral. Any suggestions?

So I need to advance the timing? It is a constant white haze. The truck is all stock right now so I shouldn't be over fueling. I don't think it is a head gasket of anything like that cause I'm not mixing oil and coolant and I'm not using any coolant. I think that it is a timing issue, but does that explain the hard start? It feels way under powered too. Maybe cause its stock? Does 14 pounds of boost sound right for stock?

Because of the hard starting issue, I think the whole problem may be an air leak in the primary fuel system. Check it thoroughly, even with retarded timing the truck should start easily.

Ok thanks. What is a good way to check for places air could be leaking into? I'm not leaking fuel anywhere. I know air could still be getting in somewhere though. I retarded the pump about a 16th and it seems to be less noisy and run a little better to me, How would it run if it did skip a tooth on the gear?
