Rear Spindal nut retainer??

where can i find one of those little U shaped retianers you pound into the keyway on the rear axle that retains the 2-9/16 nut. So far they look like they are made from unobtainum. Autozone, and pepboys are a no. if someone has a part # and location that normally stocks them that would be great.

Dorman# 81036/HELP! #4116576 is the only aftermarket ones I have found. Any auto parts store should be able to get them.

And there's always your local Dodge dealer. 4506110

I tried out car quest and they were able to find it as there Dorman products book was much larger then the chain auto parts stores. 81036 was the part #. they looked up axle clips and it just so happened to be on the same page. They also say its for a 81-87 ford E350 with a dana 70. I still can't beileve these are not more common and easily found.

I got two from my local Dodge dealer about a month ago. About $2.70 ea.
They had them the next day.
Don't make it so hard.
I always ask the price of the part at Dodge first. Sometimes they are competitive and somtimes they are just plain Stupid on price.

I got mine off of a display rack at Napa. The box had them listed as fitting a Ford with a Dana 70.

My local NAPA has a whole big turn-stile with all kinds of axle-nuts, lock-washers, and lock-clips, including the ones that fit ALL of the Danas that have the silly single ny-lock nut.

As soon as I find them, or give up on finding them and just order them new, I am throwing those soft-metal troublesome single ny-lock nuts as far as I can send them, and replacing them with the much better old-style double-nut/folding-tab-washer set-up.
