Ran truck out of fuel

Well I ran the truck out of fuel. I've filled the tank and have cracked open all the lines but it still won't start. What are the steps that need to be taken to get this thing running again?

Thanks, Tony

It happens, Been there. Word to the wise, don't park on a hill pointed down with low fuel. You will be right there, till the wife comes and rescues you.

What I did on the last crewcab and will be doing on this build is I put a electric pump in the line for that reason if I change the filter or run low I just hit the pump for a few sec and everything is fine .saves having to walk or wait for the other half .

Pay attention to where the fuel gauge was. When mine hits "E" it is not kidding. I carry a gallon can and dump it in if I'm not close to the gas station when I get below a 1/4 tank.

Up here, fuel stations are a bit further apart. If you run out, it's a long walk. Cell phone? you wish.

My sending unit never got changed per the Dodge TSB so my gauge is way off. When I first hit E I still have about 10 gallons left. I can usually bottom the gauge out and still drive 100 miles. When your speedo/odometer don't work though, it's a challenge figuring it out. I always have my Tomtom on so on long distance trips I just do the math in my head, but in the city it's a PITA.
