questions on what to do.....

With high diesel prices, and being about to build a house, I am going to thin the herd. I've decided to keep the 96 Chevy CC 1T SRW, and put a Cummins in it.
I have 2 engines to choose from. A 93 with 222,000 miles,(In a D350) and an 84,000 from an 89. The 89 model is alrady out, and low miles, but do I need to worry about head cracks? I have a complete intercooler setup off another 93, so I can intercool it. I also have a GDS 60mm compressor, 4" exhaust, gov spring, etc.
I still pull a bit, (I got rid of my D5 Cat, but still have horses, etc) so I do want some power, but mileage is also a factory. Truck has 3.42 gears.
Again, do I need to worry about the head? Run it and worry later. This is my daily driver, and if I sell the 93 D350, and 93 GMC (with gutless 6.5) I will be down to my truck and my wife's, so reliability is an issue.

Am I worrying over nothing? I appreciate you thoughts on this.
Thanks
Virgil

he could swap heags but then u need so use the 93 injectors because they are actually smaller then the 89 injectors. the 89 has a 9mm tip and the 93 has a 7mm tip. personally i would stick with the 89 head.

run the 89, can get more power out of the stock injectors or leave it alone and it should be reliable, it is a cummins after all.

Thanks for the replies. Think I may just do the compressor/ intercooler upgrade, 12cm2 housing, 366 spring, and 4" exhaust, for simplicity sake. I may turn the fuel up a bit.
