Pull Cable

Anyone got any pics of their pull cable set up? Please include what materials you used. If grinding the plunger doesn't work, I might have to become a member of the club. Thanks.

I used a bike derailleur cable, a little cable tie off thing from a hardware store and a "peterbilt" keyring as the piece I pull. Real simple.

Yes. A pull cable shut-off set up.

Arrow Engine Stop

You can actually get the real thing for big trucks at NAPA and other good parts stores.

The **** will be RED, octagon-shaped, and say ENGINE STOP in big bold letters.

If there is a big truck mechanic, or boneyard, close by, you can probably get one for the asking.

These are not much higher cost than a choke cable, and come with the correct fittings to hook to the shut-down lever, without having to improvise.

farm implement dealer can probably also hook you up.

Especially if it is an older caseIH tractor with the same engine and injection pump.

go to napa and ask for a shut down cable for an 80's r model mack, its just what you want.

and old trucks did also use a key, the key just shut down all the trucks electronics and such, but the engine would keep running till you pulled the cable.

I'm thinking about removing the clock spring on mine and hooking it to a solenoid so I can use my cool down timer again. I really hate having to sit there for 5 minutes in my driveway, then killing it with the clutch.
