Went on a 1,250 mile road trip to Montana and went to check the oil and the handle is gone. I'm thinking the dip stick is sitting further down in the dip stick tube or I left it on the radiator and its laying along the road somewhere. I'm sticking with the first one.

Any suggestions for fishing that out? Will the tube pull out of the block so I can push the stick back out?

 

yours the plastic tube, should pull out

 

Use some bailing wire, or a coat hanger to feed down the tube to double check if it's still there. No sense pulling the tube out if you do not need to.

 

good idea, maybe even a extension tool magnet could retrieve it.

 

Dunb question I know, but have you tried looking down the tube with a flashlight?
