overdrive question

is it possible to get my overdrive to work without having my speedo working?
i hate the drone at 45 and want it to kick up to the last gear, but i have no speedo cable whatso ever coming from my tranfercase, i think it got ripped off by the previous owner.

There are 2 wires that go to the trans to the od selonoid. One has power when the key is on the other just needs to be run through a switch and then to ground. Then whenever you flip the switch od will engage.

You can switch into od anytime after it shifts 3rd gear. My truck usually goes into od around 35mph.

Best bet is to take it to a good auto parts store, they will have a pigtail for it.

I was asking about the pins on the trans side. I don't have a plug on the wiring harness side of things so I don't know how the plug is laid out. Unless hooking it up backwards wont blow it up inside the trans.

The solenoid doesn't care. Power to one pin, ground to the other.
