Overdrive or no overdrive?

Should I use overdrive when pulling, If I don't use it I am turning 2500 rpm at 60 mph, seems like alot of rpm. Have heard both ways that it doesn't hurt to pull in overdrive. I have the 47LE transmission.

Won't hurt the tranny. Might lower you MPG's.

It depends on what you are pulling and the grade. If you are at max power in OD then yes, definately downshift. The EGT will drop and you'll have better throttle response. Using OD while towing in the mountains is where my TC started to slip, and now with gauges, I can see that the EGT is way up there at low RPM and heavy load. Give it a break if it's working too hard. Then on the flats go back to OD when you can.

Actually, you should experience less slipage in Tow/Haul mode. You have improved shift spread and are running increased throttle pressure.
