auto transmission jumps in and out of overdrive when about a mile away from home.it does this intermittantly for approximately another half mile and then operates normally.it seems to be worse when colder.has anyone had a simmilar problem and what was the fix. thanks in advance.92 dodge diesel

 

The computer is not supposed to shift into overdrive until the engine is up to 60 degrees. Perhaps the coolant temp sensor is flaky or you have an air bubble nearby.
