Old plow truck

In my pre-cummins life I used to plow with this rig. It had a 318 in it so I got a junk yard 360, broke the glaze re-ringed it, bearings, oil pump, torquey (is that a word) cam and lifters, and a 4bbl. A fresh color change (it was butterscotch). This was a great truck to plow in, always had the drivers window down, heater on, and tailgate down, back then I lived up in PA and we had more snow in those days. Feel free to jump in with your plow rigs.

Love the old '77 with the RT stripe and Plum Crazy paint like a old Charger or Challenger.
The stripe kinda reminds me of the AAR Cuda strobe stripe.

Cool old plow rig.

My old W350 is a bag of rust, and a yard only plow truck. The drivers side door will not latch and hasn't in 5 years. The floorboard has big holes in in. Blower fan is not worth turning on and it is just s warm turd launcher...but it still plows deep / heavy snow like a champ.

Can't beat success, besides, you have plenty of other cool vehicles.

Love the Plum Crazy! I've toyed with the idea of a version of the "Super Bee" stripe on my truck, except in reference to the Super 'B' Cummins. Seems like I've seen that somewhere? Maybe not a bed end stripe but hood & cab. No matter, not going to happen. That's frivolous compared to my Need To Do list...

BTW, I just bought a 360 to replace the 318 in my '77. What I really wanted was the NP435 4 speed but the motor was still attached. And it had a Holley 600 & headers and I hate breaking up a good relationship. From my measurements it looks to be a straight drop in/bolt up?

Thanks guys for sharing the pictures too!

As long as the 360 has a truck oil pan, it should be a direct replacement.

Love it. Love those year trucks with the snub nose look.

So where is the 1975 D700 ? You really need to share that one with us.

And snubbed they were! I took all kinds of joking in school for my dad driving an "old goat" (first a '72 D100 then a '78 W200). I had to wait until 1989 for redemption when Cummins finally found a resting spot in 'ol D001.

I like the body lines on those older trucks, the bathtub hood, some of the crazy option packages, the graphics, etc.

And they had a lot of option packages back then! My grandfather worked at a DCPD dealership in the 50s-70s. My dad gave me an "Adult Toys" t-shirt with a bunch of cool trucks on it from the dealership and mom wouldn't let me wear it. Being only 10 or 12 I couldn't understand why...

We were down in the Smokies last month and I saw a lifted Palamino running around near Pigeon Forge. It looked pristine from a distance but I never got to get up close.

Warlocks, Little Reds, Midnight Express, mine was a Sno-Commander. Some cool old iron back then.
