Snow Plow prep on indefinite restriction
Snow Plow prep on indefinite restriction
I ordered my truck last week, but see on one the industry sites that the Snow Plow prep is on indefinite restriction.

Does this mean I get to wait indefinitley? Maybe an 04?

Re:Snow Plow prep on indefinite restriction
I remember reading that myself somewhere but I think it's safe to disregard that info. I ordered my '03 2500 with a snowplow prep on 1/27. The truck was shipped on 2/11 and as of today it is sitting at the U.S./Mexico border on a Union Pacific railcar and according to UPRR it will cross the border tommorow. So unless this restriction came about after my truck was built you should be O.K.

How do you like the fischer Plow???

Getting a Plow was one of the specific reasons I bought the truck. The house I about to build will be 650 feet off the road. There is no way I want to do that with a snow blower. Although Wi hasnt seen a reall plowable snow in well over a year.

Re:Snow Plow prep on indefinite restriction
I like the Fisher plow. The one I have I took off my '01 2500 and put it on this truck and when my new '03 arrives it will be tranfered over to that truck. I have had zero problems with my Fisher. I just wash it after plowing, spray WD40 on the cylinders to prevent rust while not use, and change the hydro oil every spring.

Plows are alot like trucks and most guy's tend to be brand loyal. Also, certain plows may dominate certain area's depending on where dealers are located. Around my area Fishers everywhere due to the fact that their made in Maine and we have several dealers locally. This may not hold true where you live.

From what I have read the new MinuteMount 2 plow is supposed to be a really nice set up and if I were getting a new plow that would be my choice.
