ok my truck is possessed

I'm really starting to hate my 1st gen truck. The only thing I like about it is the mighty cummins. Ok heres the deal. Several times over the last week my transmission ( gutbag) was locked up in neutral and wouldn't go into gear until I rolled the truck forward and played with it. Ok no big deal. Next my power windows wouldn't roll down and I couldn't find anything wrong with the fuses.. suddenly it starts working again. OK again I can live with that.... Today I was driving and my clutch pedal dropped to the floor and I was unable to shift so I had to drive home in 3rd. I turned the engine off and put the dogs in the house then went back out to check my slave cylinder. My pedal was back up and shifting fine. Hmmmmmm Think I should call a priest to exorcise my truck? I've never had a truck with so many little irritating problems. Not even my series 3 land rover lol. Gotta love the cummins though.

Power windows is likely a bad wire where the harness goes from the cab to the door.

Sounds like you got an air bubble in your clutch. It there enough fluid in the reservoir? Can you see a leak anywhere?

Remember that this is a 12 year old truck. At least you're not driving a brand new PSD that dies out at 60 mph for no apparent reason.

hahaha true at least I can always limp it home. IT's just the little stuff that annoys me. Transmission was rebuilt 6,000 miles ago before I bought the truck. Slave cylinder looks good no leaks. Fluid looks new but has some contamination. Looks like a few drops of water floating on top. I'll suck it out with a turkey baster and top it off. I've never had that happen with any truck. It was pretty strange. I guess that I shouldn't complain.. it fixed itself.

the power windows thing could be a dirty switch too. my power windows on my 93 died so i took the switches off of the door, and cleaned them with brake cleaner........worked great ever since

Old Dodges (any kind) run fine until the driver losses faith, then the problems start.

Well everything works now so I'll just leave it alone. Although my air conditioning only works on high. When I push the low setting I get heat. hmmmmm

Sounds like an air bubble to me too. I'd like to find out how water got in there though, and take care of that if I were you. Do you off road in water/mud?

With the windows, it's likely the switch at the door. Grab it and wiggle it out of the door skin, (no tools required) and wiggle the connections on the back of the switch around. this usually does the trick. You could pull it off and clean them, but I'm far too lazy for that Besides it usually happens at the worst time, and you are happy to get the thing shut again. This even happens on 2nd gen dodges.

good luck and I hope she gets better for you. Leave it to dodge to build a vehicle that heals itself.
