Is it under warranty? How many miles? Any mods?

Wow... that's weird...

Disconnect your batteries for 30 minutes, before you hook them back up, press the brake and turn the key on... Maybe that will reset the computer...

Have you done anything lately to it?

Someone mentioned similar (but not identical) problems because the battery in his key fob was bad. If madhat's suggestion doesn't help, try switching to your spare key and see if that makes any difference. It's an easy check.

Otherwise, check for loose connectors or grounds.

I understand mounting a horseshoe in engine compartment will belay the gremlins for sure.
If you really want to kill stray signals made by mischarged circuits in computers, try this. Remove ALL battery connections. With key off short a positive and negative lead together for 1 minute. REMEMBER YOU ARE SHORTING THE CABLES, not the batteries. Normally you will get a small electric arc from the capicators(batteries) in the various computers. Upon reconnecting you will also get a arc as the capicators charge and various lights come on. At this point you have lost all adaptive memories in computers. Driving will restore memories from a normal starting point. JMHO

Wouldn't the horse shoe interfere with the rabbit's foot i stuck in the air cleaner? Maybe the voodoo doll of my ex in the glove box is causing all the trouble. I could try removing some of the pins. Now the cargo light is on and won't turn off.

My BIL had a 76 Chevy pickup that would wipe the windshield once about every 10 minutes. Every single component got replaced but it still did it for the 10 years he owned it.
