Not full travel on fuel Pin

Guys i have been posting a couple of fuel related issues lately regarding not enough fuel. I dont think i am getting as much as i should be. My fuel pin will not travel all the way down to the deepest point. My rack is moving freely but with my denny t stage 2 it will not go down to max travel. I have the starwheel maxed full power maxxed. I have enough travel in the throttle for wot and my fuel lines are 3/8ths is there any way to get the pin to travel farther down. could i possibly have a bad pump? or could the motor just not be loading up enough with the gearing 4.56 with a th400 that i have? thanks guys for the info

Do you still have the washer under the pin?

What is your max boost?

The fuel pin is controlled by boost.

Could have a leak between cyl. head and AFC. The small steel line.

the washer might need to be shaved down. how much more does it have to go until its in the deepest part?

You could just remove your AFC lever, and then the fuel pin would be unnecessary.

It's possible that you aren't making enough boost to shove the pin all the way down.

Sounds like you need to plumb in a boost gauge...its hard to fathom that the pin would not reach full travel with the starwheel all the way down....

You will never get it to go all the way because he made then so that they could never hit the pin. The fuel pin is cut so deep that once it goes down to a certain point the small pin that rides on it will max out and no longer contact the fuel pin. In other words once you get to that point it is like not having a fuel pin in it at all. The AFC lever maxes out and will not alow more travel even though the fuel pin would alow it.

There is nothing wrong with you setup that's just how they were made. I should know because DennyT is a really good friend of mine and I had him make me a pin and then he started making then for others and newer versions. I have checked them with a pump on my bench and measured every thing. The fuel pin will still move down a few thousandths of an inch after the other pin has maxed out and is no longer in contact with the fuel pin. You can not get any more top end fuel than a DennyT stage II even if you take the pin completely out. You have to grind or remove the AFC lever.
