Non I/C EGT's

I am in working on trying to make my truck have around 350 hp but i keep having egt issues. what are some things i can do to help with my egt's. I know of w/m, which i will probly do but how about turbo options and other products to help with egts. i do not want to make my truck I/C. i want to keep it non ic. i have the stock turbo now. Thanks

you must be new to diesels.
For Non IC trucks, it sounds like you are crossing off the possibility of an air to air intercooler, and a chemical intercooler (otherwise known as w/m injection) If so, the only other options you have are:
1) adv timing: lowers egts and boost but needed with more fuel to tame EGTs
2) bhaf intake (which I see you have)
3) 4" exhaust/ the less restriction the better on intake and exhaust.
4) good turbo to match your fueling. you need to get rid of the baby h1c and get one with a 4" intake at least ASAP. that 50mm pinwheel is doing you no good... I recommend the hx 35 hybrids over the baby h1c. look at high tech turbo dot com.
Not sure where to get the 350 #'s
you didn't specify application
daily driver?
tow rig?
sled puller?
Drag strip racer?

Defiantly get a better turbo. You can get a HX35 or you can get a compressor upgrade for the H1C, check out this site you will want the 60mm this kit is the equivalent to the HTT stage III http://www.gdsdieselparts.com/1989-9...o_upgrades.htm . That will help you breath better. As stated before get a 4" turbo back system from someplace like Stan's Headers and you will also want to increase the size of your crossover. From stock it is at the most 2" inside now what I plan on doing is using my old 3" DP and making my own, I already made the plate to bolt to the intake side now I just have to cut and weld the DP on.

PapeCat why did you say NO to w/m, I know of a couple of guys with the non ic that are running w/m.

I think he should go I/C and/or WM actually. However, from what I understood from his first post, he doesn't want to.
You will have to alter the crossover with a bigger turbo upgrade yes, so I recommend a 3" crossover as well. A few of us have done this and posted pics...

I was planing on doing w/m. I already bumped my timing and will be working on the crossover tube shortly. I do have the h1c turbo. two of my other buddies have i/c trucks and they are dead set on saying that you need a i/c to make power. i just want to see if it is possible to match their numbers w/o an intercooler. It is my DD and tow rig a 24' gooseneck loaded with firewood.

you for sure can make their power! Do you see any intercoolers on tractor pullers? nah. I/C will let you make that power for longer without EGTs melting pistons but for a short burst or drag race, no worries.
