Non-turbo diesel and EGT's

Im just wondering how a non turbo diesel like the old 6.9s and early 7.3s were able to keep egt's under control with any fuel adding mods. it seems like without a turbo it would be hard to do.

It is. You can try to free up the intake and exhaust but you can only do so much.
