New 12V builds on DTR?

Anyone got a major project, or big swap planned for the winter?
I like the look of the old Power Wagon build out of NM, mhuppertz is planning

There used to be several interesting major builds going on at any one time here.
I would get inspired by ideas and stuff people where doing.

Things like....
Mark making a bolt in engine crossmember, front of the front spring hangers and lots of custom pieces for his D-250 to W-250 build.

Thrashingcows pushing 12Vs UP his driveway on his all around awesome crew cab, Patches, build thread that lasted for years.

Papecat's teal crew cab and it changing turbo selection and out of the box transmission O/D set up.

CE TX cool crew cab build with custom leaf springs and hangers.

The over the top Ramburban build of gyman98's. Or his crew cab...or old Powerwagon build

Vader's slick looking lowered black dually with the trimmed down front coils, flipped spring hangers and longer shackles on the rear. [not really a full build, but had some different ideas going on in it]

BHD's Firewagon with all the awesome '70s flavor a guy could need.

There used to be several crew cab and Ramcharger 12V swaps being built at anytime.... Now, the only two active ones I can think of are 40 FT apart from each other in my own shop.

Well I am making a black tea with a shot of maple syrup and I am headed out to the shop to weld on my 12V '78 RC for a bit and listen to Tool and Clutch for a bit. Those bands have the perfect names for shop music.

Hope in the next year or two to get on the Sno-ball cummins conversion, and poor patches is just getting neglected but still running and driving like a champ....but shop is taking up all my time and extra funds now.

Hmmm, you're right.

Has the wave crested or are we just in a lull?

My FireWagon build hasn't stopped, just in coast mode. I still plan on adding AC and some creature comforts. My next build build, based on money and time, is a P-pumped 24V and 6 speed in my '90. Unless I get back into truck pulling with my '77 W200 big block, or tractor pulling with our 400 plus cube 2 cylinder John Deere, or (fill in the blank). Right now I am happy to be putting miles on my old junk before the Ugly Season starts.

- A converter, input shaft and a few odd pieces are between me and a 48RH.
- A few fittings to complete a new lift-pump setup.
- Run new wiring for the coolers and lift-pump while in there

Then I just gotta do it.

The triples are 95% complete (final tuning).
The 2001 dana70 w/disc brakes, fancy axles and locker is done.

ALL of it Frankenstein builds.

I thought of your truck and your triple turbo build when I posted this thread.
I am glad to hear you are still working out the details.

How was getting the Dana 70 with disks to work right, in the place of drums? Did you have to use a proportioning valve in line?

I'm hoping to get to work on my RC/4bt build soon! Also I would like to rip apart the W250 again, install black leather or similar material for the seating and repaint it. This time going to do a high quality paint (2K) https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-9m...age-paint.html I really don't know what to do for color! Bugs me.

I miss working on the old Dodges and I'm starting to get that bug again. Not sure if I told the story this year or not but I took the RC out down our road because my wife thought the AWD ford flex would go through the snow. Well it got stuck and the computer couldn't sense where it was stuck so only one wheel in the front/back were turning until you would put pressure on it. Then it would tell the computer to engage AWD. Needless to say I messed around with that way to much and got the RC, locked the hubs and ripped the flex out with a large chain. Could have used my tractor but it was more fun in the RC. Man those GoodYear Authority tires are no joke!

I know one thing for sure about build threads, they are far more popular, going by thread view numbers, than any of the technical threads. Ya' gotta' give the people what they want...Mark

Well here's some zen for you: A build is what you think it is or a build by any other name would still be a build, right?...Mark

To build or to rebuild, THAT is the question!

I am slowly rebuilding my truck.

Would they be builds that involve serialized pieces of forged aluminum?
