I've got the 3 wires figured out for the neutral switch, but what do all the other wires go to? I know 2 go to the VSS, but which ones?

There's 9 wires coming out of that plug.

Neutral Switch:
Brown/Yellow tracer
White
Purple/Black tracer

One 2-pole plug with:
Orange/Green tracer
Blue

One 2-pole plug with:
Green/Brown tracer
Black/Brown tracer

And 2 wires broken off with no plug:
Black/Blue tracer
White/Orange tracer
I think the green brown and black one is for the transfer case switch on 4wd. Still working on the other...stay tuned...Mark

Thank you very much. Now, just to rebuild this harness and plug it in. My 4wd indicator doesn't work and this explains it now, just got to figure out where it plugs in. Probably start on that tomorrow.

Got the rear axle tore apart today to replace a leaking wheel cylinder. Figured I may as well replace everything else while I was in there.

Awesome. Thanks again.

Hopefully I've got enough wire here to redo the harness tomorrow since the roads are closed and I can't get to town. This snowstorm's been a good excuse to stay in the garage and get some things done I've been procrastinating on.

Looks like most of it is there, should be able to save it. I just burned up the front harness on my 912, I had to completely remake it. Luckily, I have an old one, so I was able to make all visible wires the correct color code. It was a big PITA though...Mark

Well, got the harness all put together finally. Hopefully get it put in this weekend along with a new neutral switch, VSS, tranny service, all new rear brakes, door pin bushings, oil pressure sensor, trailer hitch, and change fluids in the axles and transfer case. Gonna be a long weekend, but I'll report back if everything works.
