Question Neutral switch and VSS wiring

I'm trying to finish up some wiring on my 90. I found the neutral switch and vss, but there is no wiring anywhere close to plug in to them. I can't figure out where the wires were cut or ripped out of the main harness.

Does anyone know where these wires tie in? Or the colors on the wires?

I found a new connector for the VSS at NAPA, but can't find a connector for the Neutral switch. Anyone know where to find one of them?

Thanks

A 90 should not have a vss that is a cable driven speedo isn't it?

Nope, it's electric. Think it was the first year.

Not a problem. I wouldn't have known myself except I just swapped a new speedo in to replace my burnt up one.

I just found a connector for the Neutral switch on Rockauto, so I got that covered. Now I just need to figure out where to tie the wires back in.

Well, starting a 4 day weekend and sounds like I might be snowed in, so I'm going to try to tackle this wiring.

Any input would be great...or I'm just gonna start untaping and removing loom til I find what I'm looking for...

The wires to the vss on my 90 rag originate in this large connector on the passenger side, goes over the rag to the vss, hope this helps...Mark

Hey, thanks a lot. Got that much figured out now. I looked at mine and there's nothing plugged in there. I had to go work on a backhoe for my neighbor today, who I got the truck from, dug around his place and found the harness. Broken wires and burnt wires all over it though.

I've got the 3 wires figured out for the neutral switch, but what do all the other wires go to? I know 2 go to the VSS, but which ones?

There's 9 wires coming out of that plug.

Neutral Switch:
Brown/Yellow tracer
White
Purple/Black tracer

One 2-pole plug with:
Orange/Green tracer
Blue

One 2-pole plug with:
Green/Brown tracer
Black/Brown tracer

And 2 wires broken off with no plug:
Black/Blue tracer
White/Orange tracer

You are correct about the nss, the vss is the white/ orange tracer and black with lite blue tracer. Those would be the ones with no connector. I'll look to see where each goes, i think they are polarized. The backup light switch is part of the neutral safety switch. I only have 5 wires from that connector. Do you have OD?...Mark

Thank you. Those are the main 2 I wanted to know. Trying to get my speedometer and backup lights to work.

I do not have OD. I've got the 3spd 727.

I'll have to do some looking tomorrow and see if I can figure out where the other 2 plugs go.

All I have is a Chilton's manual and can't even find those colored wires in the diagrams, so hopefully I can match up plugs somewhere and figure it out.

Could be for a gasser. The FSM is not real clear on that.I checked the color codes for that and they do not match what you have...Mark

Ok, haven't found much. Here's what I'm working with though.
Picture 1 is the connector that plugs in like the one in the picture above.

Here's the harness I found..Not in real good shape.

Here's the other 3 plugs on the harness.

From what I've figured out from your help, the plug on the right is the Neutral switch plug and 2 of the broken wires are for the VSS. The 2 plugs I still can't figure out are the left and middle one in the 3rd picture.
