the afc has the metal shaft with a cone on the end of it. the cone is not centerd on the shaft, look at it you will see, put it in so that the deepest part is facing forward.

Won't hurt anything but your fuel budget.

I glanced down inside it, this cone apperantly is below the starwheel because I couldn't see it, also how is the shaft removed? I did notice that the shaft would rotate freely, but couldn't see the cone.
Thanks!

Did a crap load of playing around and put the fattest or thickest part toward the front. WOW I turned it into a gutless turd, couldn't even get the water temp to climb even the slightest on a good hard pull! So I noticed that when I removed the shaft, I looked down the hole and saw where the fuel pin is. I did not see the pin itself, so I figured that it must be back inside the hole. I saw the marks on the cone where the pin once rode.

My question is, can the AFC shaft be removed for a short trip?
Is there any fuel that should lay anywhere inside the pump that I would be able to see?
Thanks Guys!

No! The case pressure will push the pin into the the AFC bore and fuel will begin flowing out the AFC vent at a rapid rate.

You should not see fuel in the AFC housing. If you do, the o-ring around the pin is leaking.

when I removed the spring the first time, when the shaft was coming out, I found a plastic like looking washer, where does it belong?
It is about a 1/4 inch thick and is cut up the side
Thanks

oh ok I was slightly worried for a moment. I never guessed that this was such a sensative adjustment. It can turn a truck from a sled to a raped ape.
Thanks

you can also get different springs for under the diafram too, its amazing what a slight rotate on the diafram does, i think your hooked on diesel power now.
