Hello and welcome to DTR! There are two wires going to your injector pump. One is higher up and toward the back (firewall). This wire controls the shutdown solenoid on the pump. Sometimes the 'ol Cummins rattles them loose (usually just a spade connector) and everything shuts down--just like when you turn the key off. There should be at least 8-9 volts present there with the key in the 'run' position. Check that wire first. My guess is that it came off. In case you've never messed with it before, the injection pump is on the driver side of the engine, toward the front. Find the mess of 6 injection lines on the back of the pump and look directly above that area for the shutdown solenoid and the potentially offending wire. Check there and get back to us---we'll get 'ya rattlin again!

i fixed mine for $1.50, only after i spent $150 on new fuel lines from Cummins that i can't return, bastards. I found mopar type spade connectors from a place like federated, or napa work awesome and look stock, not too mention are well protected in the plastic shrouding. I guess anything will work but i like to look stock. Replace both connectors, the one on the backof the pump and the one on the side.
ok ill try that tonight i have replaced the fuel filter on the side of the eng there is only one correct would have done it last night but was told if i touch the truck last night i die
Hey Wanna, remember a few week's ago mine pulled air from somewhere and did the same thing, just getting into the throttle and she shut down.had to bleed all six injectors and she fired up.took all of five minutes on the side of the highway. If it is not the solenoid wires, then bleed the injectors at the head three at a time and see if that gets her shaking. by the way, I still havent found the source of the air in the lines.
