need help fast

ok the plug on the drain on your fuel filter, is that mandiotry to have for your truck to run, i was told it could just be the water in fuel censor, and in that case i could get by without it, while changing my filter yesterday 1 of the wires ripped out, so if you could give me some info on where i can get a new little drainer thing w/ the plug and if a can run my truck! thanks

Its a factory( Dodge Dealer) item and willset you back about 46$ here in Topeka! The truck can run just fine without it being plugged in, and you can actually buy filters that dont even have the hole for teh WIF sensor, which is the "official" name of the part.
I wouldnt suggest going without it, but for a short time, it shouldnt hurt anything

It won't hurt a thing to leave the wires un-hooked, so long as the plastic gizmo is screwed in the bottom of the filter.

I use LS1221 Fleetgaurd; they are about twice as long, and are solid bottom, with a made-in drain-valve that stays with the filter.

You can order a new Water in Fuel sensor at Genos for about $22. Just looked to be sure they still carry 'em.

Nothing has to be moved to fit the CORRECTION = FS1221.

I buy them in bulk from Scheid's; but, any Cummins place should have them, as Fleetgaurd is Cummins filter brand-name.

I just watch for an unexplained drop in fuel pressure and change according to what I find.

Let me amend my statement; as, I was getting my LS1220 Makita Miter Saw mixed up with my FS1221 Fleetgaurd fuel filters.

Too many numbers going around in my head.
