It looks like you guys had a great time, everything your eyes seen will be in your memory forever.

A small story about taking vacations.

When I was 12 and my sis was 15 my Dad and Mom took us on a 32 day big loop out west from southern IL, we hit

Devels tower
Rushmore
Badlands
Cody
Yellowstone NP
Tetons NP
Olimpic NP
Redwoods
Golden gate NP
Yosemite NP
Sequoia NP
Big Sur
Disney CA.
Zoo in SF
Four corners
Mesa Verde
Crand canyon NP
Monument Valley
Rocky Mountain NP

When I got married and had my 2 kids I did the same thing with them only added some more parks.

We also took them camping, backpacking, kayaking, 3-4 times a year local and at least 1 time a year a week long Smoky Mountain trip.

Now that they are gone my wife and I have started going back to the parks and places we really liked from the trip, last year was our 30th aniv and we went back to Yosemite, Sequoia, Zion, Brice, and up through the middle of Colorado on 550, the next big trip will be back to Mt Rainier.

My kids have already started taking there kids camping and on vacations, I am thankfull to my folks for getting me off the farm and showing me the country and I hope my kids and grandkids are the same.

we usually spend 1,000-3,000 a year on vacations and my friends think we are nuts. but they have never seen Yosemite falls, or looked into the Grand canyon, or watched and smelled Old Fathfull go off, or sit on Mt Mitchell and smelled the balsam trees, or been on Mt Evans in July when it's snowing, or Sanibel Island Florida in Feb with your feet in the Gulf looking through sea shells.

If you can't tell I love to travel and see my country and the State and National Parks.

If you have a wonderlust at all then do it, you can camp and fix your own meals and travel on a tight budget if you want to bad enough.

Dar

Traveling and making these memories is worth every penny!

Thanks guys! We drove for almost 12Hours and made it to Cedar City RV and are well over half way home now so tomorrow will be easy.

The truck has run flawless and not skipped a beat. 5-7% grades are 4th gear up and down and other than that just been cruising in 5th.

Before we left home I put a new speedometer reduction gear box and the Speedo read dead nuts on BUT I noticed it didn't really thread properly onto the transmission and hindsight is I should of somehow restrained it as it fell off somewhere south of Provo. Guess I'll buy it all again and make dang sure it stays put for round two

That reminds me. I need to go check mine for tightness since I had my trans replaced. Those aren't cheap!

Drive safe.

Made it home a few hours ago and got trailer parked and have been unpacking until just now.
All in all I would guess we drove about 2,400 miles with 2,000 of that towing the trailer.
Not one single problem with the truck that required a delay. I did notice coolant temp did tended to get a little hot climbing hills in 4th or 5th at 1,100 on the Pyro so think I'll pull the radiator and have it rodded out.

Had a offer to buy in Cedar City this morning. Guy was putting a 4bt in a jeep and drove a new CTD but really wanted a 1st gen. Was pretty surprised when I told him I was on the return leg of a trip from San Diego to Yellowstone.

Well here she sits, back at home. Since wife has a friend there in Jackson were thinking of going back maybe every other year.
