my poor truck (not for ones with a weak stomach)

well might as well let it all out.

thursday during school it started snowing after school i was driving my friend home and as always i was babying my truck going about 35 and i met this car head on as it was taking up its half of the road out of the center. i just steered to the side of the road to miss it and i was sucked down. i steered back towards the center but i was already going. so you're thinking down in the ditch no biggie right just drive out or maybe a little pull. oh no not with my luck, i get ran off the road right into a walk through box culvert. what a mess. i was hung up on the concrete and the rear drivers side wheels were about 5 feet off the ground. at first it didnt look bad: very minimal body damage Front driverside fender and thats it. but it looks like it has snapped my passenger spindle and pushed my front end back. it also seems to have sprung the frame. but the bed is still perfect, the running boards kept the concret fron getting into the body but needless to say my poor, once pristeen, truck looks to be totaled. the bed on the passenger side now sits about 1 foot higher that the drivers side. some how i managed to walk away with out even a bruise and every one say well at least your al right but i think i would rather deal with a broken arm than have my truck in the shape it is. but pleas folks dont be mad a me i feel bad enough for ruining what i've worked so hard for for so long, and also for taking such a nice 1st gen out of commision. i'm just thankful i kept full coverage on it. so now i'm beginning the hunt for a new truck. And i hope to find another first gen ctd because i dont think i could ever have anything else.
If any of you know of a first gen for sale in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky or Missouri for a reasonable price i would be interested. i would like a 4x4 this time but it isnt essential if the price is right. thanks to any of you who can provide any information about a truck for sale.

and incase you're wondering i plan to buy it back from the insurace and either swap it into something else or part it out.

Tucker

I'm with Dave, I hurt for ya also. I know that it is hard to see your pride and joy in that condition. The only pic of your truck that I have seen is your avitar, but it still hurts to hear.

Sorry to hear about your truck, and I am like you I'd rather have a brken arm then a totaled truck. Good Luck in your hunt for another truck.

That really sucks, but at least you werent abusing it at the time. Accidents do happen, go on. I've had 2 broken arms and a couple whiplashes- I'd prefer the broken bones. Especially when the alternative is walking.

Why isnt the other person's insurance company going to pay for it?

I know of a 4x4 x-cab 250 30min from me on ebay. New paint, seems to be in decent shape, though I havent seen it in person. I'll keep an eye out.
