ok. Heres what my cruise control does.
When you set it for any speed, it slowly accelerates. If you hit the resume/accel button, the throttle opens up slightly and stays, hit again and it opens up more and stays, and so on until wide open throttle.
When you hit the decel button it slows the truck down but it slowly picks up speed again.
If you set the cruise at less than 60mph, it very slowly accelerates, if you set it at anything over 60mph, it accelerates faster.

Any ideas? No mods to the truck except I hooked up a potentiometer to for the tps.

 

My cruise control has been coming and going at random since I owned the truck . It had just been working for a couple of weeks and then when I tried to use it tonight it won't work at all.

And when it does work, it isn't very smooth in it's acceleration/deceleration. It kind of surges and jerks a little when speeding up or slowing down.

 

My cruise has also been intermittent, although lately it has been working. However I have never been able to set it higher than 62mph in the 11 years that I've owned it. Someday I'll get to it.
