maxed pump timing and towing question.....

With my injection pump shoved to the head what is my limiting factor with towing? Can I still tow as much as I want as long as I watch my EGT and keep them in a safe range? Or is there some other factor besides just EGT when it comes to towing with an advanced pump.

Anyone have an idea on what the limiting factor is?

If I am correct the timing bump will lower your egt

A timing bump will always lower egt and increase performance. But shoving it to the head. I dont know.

With more timing you are pushing more heat into the pistons. It lowers the EGT, but the heat is still made, and kept inside the engine. I would not hold it at 1250 for too long while towing with it "to the head".

You sure don't want to lug it with a lot of timing, that's a good way to crack pistons.

I was refering to 1250* EGT.

Incase I wasn't very clear on that.

Do you consider 1/8" a safe amount??

If I understood right, more timing with upgrades=more combustion pressure and like wanna said lugging is not good. I also though you had more risk of blowning the head gasket

Yes, I would not be concerned about 1/8".
