Max RPM 90 W/Turbo

I Put the 90 5.9 in my 74 Dodge 4X4 I have 3:55s if I run 65mph at 2500rpm will this hurt the motor and could I run higher rpm for a long time? I'm depending taking it on a trip 400 miles next week or take the 01.

2500 is fine. I wouldn't run it over 3k for extended periods, though. Sounds like you'll be fine running 70ish.

are you running the Getrag 5sd?
355 and a 5sp shouldn't be turning 2500 at 70

Thanks for the information on RPM, I'm running the standard Auto 3 speed. I'm looking for a 5 speed 94 up what would be a good price for one? and then I need to find the linkage for the 74 I hope in the next couple weeks I'll have pictures on my web page So far every one likes it and the local Diesel shop is very impressed how it fits and with 4" stacks and paint job.

For what it would caust for a NV4500,..full spline shaft so 5th wouldn't fall off,.. clutch, pressure plate, adaper for the NV4500....... you could get a Gear Vender over drive for your auto!

http://www.gearvendors.com/ddrive.html

note: most auto 3 speeds had 3:07 in them......3:55 is going to be a slow, low fuel milage run...it will make it in flying colors though!

Auto wrecker's and or new part prices: Bellhousing $100-$125 [should come wih release arm and 4338855 release arm retainer clip], flywheel $100-$225, clutch kit $350-$1,300 [kits come with pilot bearing, alignment tool, pressure plate and release bearing] master cylinder $75-$100, slave $75, pedals/linkage $25-$100, NV4500 $600-$1,250 [often w/o shift lever], NV4500 trans mount rubber isolator $35, plus you'll need Syn Torque trans fluid at about $60 and be sure trans has 5th gear nut fix or the shaft Flash is talking about. So over $1,400 low ball on part by part or $2,300+ getting reamed on prices: cheaper to buy a wreck and strip it.....
