Master cylinder woes

I am having major problems with my master cylinder. This is the THIRD time it has failed on me. They are all new in the box, from NAPA, and made in Italy, if that makes any difference. They all lasted about 3 to 4 months and then the pedal gets soft or the brake light comes on. It's fine when newly installed. Pedal is rock hard. No leaks anywhere either. Should I just get another through warranty or buy another brand? I'm on a rock so parts stores are limited. We have NAPA, Carquest, Checker and the Dodge dealership. Possibly a bad run of master cylinders? Is the heat killing the seals? I am dead ended.

Never mind Dave, I see it's from Advance. We don't have Advance here. I'll have to order one.

If it matters at all, I put the NAPA brand brake fluid in there. Could that be killing my seals? I was told the Fords have the turbo on the same side as the master and the heat kills the seals.

I've had problems with the quality of Cardone-remanufactured parts including, most recently, a power brake booster that failed in less than one month.

Rock Auto is currently (2/9/2009) having a sale on some "Wholesaler Closeouts" and has a great price on master cylinders from both Raybestos and Bendix:

And both of there units are new as opposed to remanufactured.

Thanks for the site, James. I'm looking at it but need to wait to hear what NAPA has to say about a full refund.
