Question Clutch Slave and Master cylinder

My truck wouldn't shift to any gear when I depressed the clutch pedal. When it went in gear it ran fine. So I figure bad slave or Master cylinder?! I replaced both last night. First there is no bleed screw on the slave and the directions from the manufacturer say to fill at 45 degree angle and then acuate push rod to bleed thru reservoir. I do so then install master. Now I have the softest clutch you ever saw. There is a little movement at the slave when you push in on the clutch pedal, but I can move the pedal thru it's full stroke with a finger. Any thought? Please advise.

I ran into the same thing once, after sitting overnight I guess the air in the system must have migrated to the master cylinder, problem was gone.
