Massive injector pump leak.

Driving back from Dallas to Salina, KS wirh my 48 ft car trailer, my pump just started pissing a steady stream of diesel from the vent tube on vack of pump. I had 400 miles to go and no way could I make it losing like a galllon every couple minutes. So grabbed some silicone hose from my trailer slipped it over the vent tube, zip tied it up and ran it under the truck and into the filler door. Leaked right back into the tank and I made it home.

Hope you had a back up plan in case it eventually filled your tank up...

Many years ago I saw an old 70's Ford pickup going down the road with a clear tubing running from the filler down the side of the truck and then under to his fuel pump....guess the fuel line was clogged or rotten....you could see the fuel sloshing down the tubing while he was driving.

From reading theres a seal inside the pump thats replaceable. That pump has 1.2 mlion miles on it, so it was bound to fail at some point. Ive got a fresh longblock ready to drop in this spring, with new pump, turbo etc.
