Lucky day today- picked up a low miler
Well, today was an exhausting day for me. Oil and filter done, old coolant drained, system flushed and refilled, new fuel filter, new T-stat and hoses, and changed out some bulbs that were out. I should have taken a pic, as another example of a poorly maintained vehicle. I was wondering why the head lights weren't so very bright. There was one obvious bulb, passenger side, that had a crack in the lens. So happens I have a set of low mileage . Sylvanias, that I kept after I swapped over to the new bucket style lights. So, I changed out the passengers, and might as well do the drivers side, right? When I took of the four screws from the retainer bracket, the bulb just fell out in pieces. The fron lens had separated from the body, exposing the bulb inside. Outside of dropping one of those factory style bulbs, I've never seen one come apart like that.
Almost forgot, I also soaked the valve covers in cleaner degreaser, then chemically stripped off all the old paint, repainted them with high heat black, and adjusted the valves. They were all loose.
While idling the truck waiting for the T-stat to open, I heard a tapping noise. Wasn't the valves. I'm almost positive it's the belt tensioner pulley going south, or the bearing in the fan assembly. Either case, something's gotta get fixed, as the belt at the A/C compressor pulley is hugging one side, looking like it's going to flop over the pulley edge/rim.
Next weekend, will be replacing the ATF, transfer case fluids, and axle fluids. Once all that done, electrical troubleshooting follows.
Engine compartment is coming along, starting to look like someone cares about it.

Gonna have to go thru this Mumbai jumbo, as I see a couple of frayed/chewed on wires forward of the duck foot.
Am I correct, to say that the 1991.5 did not come with a crank sensor? The A/C doesn't work, and my first check was the crank sensor, but did not see any wires following the TPS as it does my 93. Did not see the sensor either.

Engine compartment is coming along in the clean department. Decided against red valve covers and decided to go for the MKnittle look- Black gloss with the blue Felpro gaskets.
Touched up all paint flake and paint nasties with high temp black 2000 degree header paint. Wish it came in a gloss instead of a flat.
Another question- the slider window latch. On the 93 models the latch was a cheap plastic. This 91 came with a steel latch, much better quality than those plastic ones. I'm wondering as the years progressed on if Dodge went cheap and if this was one of the changes
