Nice custom built gantry crane.
Makes the job of painting everything a more or less stand up job.

Look similar to the one my neighbor built to pull his slide in dump bed insert in and out of his truck.

Thanks, anything that makes the job easier is good. Still a little sore today from climbing/crawling around that frame four times yesterday. The shoulders aren't what they used to be, lol.,

Just been collecting parts for the job lately. I made some 5" front shackles as that seemed to be recommended, a quicker ratio steering gear, a new Borgenson shaft, I replaced the front spring rear hangers with aftermarket ones, e-brake cables/clips, new springs/hardware, motor mounts, etc. It should freshen everything up a little.

Whoa! Some early Christmas action for the old 1st gen.

That should go a long way to making it more enjoyable to pilot down the road!

Where did you source the leaf springs from?

I got them at a local spring shop, they're supposed to be stock replacements. One set is made in Mexico the other is made in USA.

I think you guys ought to just move to Az, it’s probably never going to rain here again so who needs to worry about rust but do need to worry about dying from 130 degree heat. Perfect for first geners 😳

I noticed that, my time frame is a couple years out (once I retire), but I will try to post if anything is of interest. Oliver always has some project to keep us going though.

I hear ya. Frozen shoulder is not something that I enjoy about getting older with.

They told me my collar bones were too long. They were pinching my muscles in that area. Cut the underside of the collarbone with a dremel. (abbrevement) Also had bone spurs.

My deal was on work comp. Landing gear on a trailer jumped out of gear. I wrenched my back (temporary) and messed up both my shoulders. Bone spurs were cutting the muscles and tendons.

Being work comp they dragged their feet on getting things done. They screwed around so long on the left the bone spurs severed some tendons. Drilled a hole inserted a plastic drywall anchor in. Then bundled the tendons, stuffed them in there.

I'll finish this later..............work you know.........gotta go!
