I put it in through a PTO cover bolt hole. Stuck a long piece of 1/4" plastic tubing in there and ran it up through the front left fenderwell to a funnel taped to the brush guard. Too easy.

If it's a 2wd, replace the fill plug with a street elbow pointed up. Then you can just use a funnel.

My local hardware store had a pump that fit in the top of quart oil bottles. Had the correct metric thread on the end for screwing right into the pto cover bolt holes.

the pump was made for pumping lube into an outboard boat engine. Lubrimatic brand.

I tried this but I wound up with oil all over me and everything else. I think the hose up under the hood is a better idea. Maybe a combo of the two would be good and if clear hose were used you could tell when the tranny is "full."

One fellow put a door in his floorboard and installed a dipstick made from Pipe fittings and a plug with a dipstick in it. Seems like overkill but would certainly be convenient if you change the oil a lot.

I use Mobil-1 Synthetic Truck/SUV in engine and the GetRag.

The small hose, that came with my pump, fit in the top bolt hole of the pto cover and then i just over filled it. Then, i used a bent coat hanger and made it into a u shaped dip stick w/a loop at the end of it and installed it to the wiring loom brace so that it would be there the next time i wonder ifr the o-getrage was low!

I'm wondering about this talk about dipsticks? I mean, if it ain't leaking how would it ever get low? I figured once it's overfilled probably forget forget about for 30,000 miles or so. As long as it's not leaking...

Ya thats tru but my getrag waas a lleeekkkking pig when i bought it!
sean like i have got all the leaks now but if it stated to leak an you need to check the oil, you hould have to drain and refill, counting the quarts you put in.
EDIT thats why i came up with the coat hanger trick!

Sounds good, Flash. I think I may just have a peek at it again if I get time and do same. Never know when a leak may start! I have a NV3500 in my gasser half-ton that did a real number on me. Started leaking out the top. But it was so slow it never showed up until after 110k miles when the input bearing finally started grinding. Gotta love it...
