If one were to modify this, would one get pulled over?

I'm getting ready to go out and make my exhaust dump in front of the rear tire...I know my exhaust is already "illegal" since...well someone stole the muffler... Do you all think I have a better chance of getting pulled over if it dumps in front of the tire?

Either way it will still have no muffler,,, but I for one would never dump it in front of the tire, you wont believe how much black crap you will get on the rim and side of the truck. Just my opinion, but if a cop pulls you over and sees no muffler, he has the right to ticket you, In Canada ,, and i am sure most states are the same as well

Yeah i figured I would get ticketed if I got pulled over anyways...the reason im doing this is because the back section of pipe has a rust hole in it, and I have a spare section of 4" pipe and a little bit of flex pipe, so i figured this would be the best way to fix my problems I don't really mind spitting black soot all over my rim...gives it character!

Well I shouldn't say I never got pulled over. I got pulled over 3-4 times in it. All written warnings for my speed, never a word about the exhaust.

Every time I have been through Oklahoma, I got ticketed for really stupid stuff. Like no license plate on the front bumper (was on the dash), no license plate lights, & 20% window tint on front windows. That was only on 2 trips to Edmund. I wouldn't chance it.

I believe it happened to you... But that's amazing considering we have no front plates, or inspections.

You have got to be joking! Now I'm really not going to drive next time. That only proves that if you drive a shiny truck, you get pulled over for nothing. I just wish I would have fought the ticket now.

Didn't the early F150s(1997+) with the new design start off with the exhaust blowing out infront of the passenger side rear tire? I think you would be fine but the no muffler would be the problem.

Good luck.

Dead serious. That's what you get for washing your truck Yeah, next time make someone else drive and get the tickets.

Yeah they did, but the cop in my hometown (not a cop..THE cop) has been on a kick about pulling over people with "improperly modified exhausts" so i'm just wondering how he will take me rattling windows as I blast through town...I guess I will try it, im going back home next week so we will see how he likes it

Here in Va its legal to dump it that way. The safety inspection requires it to past the passenger area. anywhere behind the cab is good. Soot will probably be a major downside

Ratat98...That could make for a good "Smokey and the Bandit" scene. I can see it now. The Sheriff taking a sip of hot coffee as you go by fast and loud, in the process shaking his car and rattling the windows. Coffee everywhere.

Just be sure to play "East Bound and Down" by Jerry Reed as you blow by.
