This what a semi bombed truck with 5inch to 6in. tip in front of tire will do.

fordsux I was just gonna say something about your picture, I remembered seeing it before. Yeah, what he said.

To solve your tailpipe problem, I called Rip Rook a few weeks back looking for a 5" tailpipe only and he priced it out around $150. That's on my list, you could give him a call and see about a 4" tailpipe section to carry it out the back unless you really want it in front of your wheel. The no muffler thing, well, that is a ticket if the right Barney Fife crosses your path. I rarely get any looks with the straight pipe....someone stole my muffler and resonator!

You just have to watch where you get into it, basically have respect for the people around you going through town, the ol' time and place for everything concept. The exhaust can be kept relatively quiet just by staying out of the go pedal.

No thanks, I already got a 3' piece of flex pipe and a 3' piece of straight 4" pipe for about 30 bucks. It is going to be way more than I will need so if anyone needs a little bit of pipe, let me know! I am planning on just taking the flex pipe from the resonator, going under the chassis and putting about a foot of the 4" straight pipe to extend it out in front of the tire like fordsux's is. I took the old pieces off behind the resonator tonight and put the flex pipe on to see what it is going to sound like, and wow, it sounds different! I likey!! How hard do you think it will be to fab a bracket to hold all this up? I love to weld, so I don't think it will be too hard...thanks all!

I've never used flex pipe before, but after messing around with it a little today, it is really easy to work with and doesn't look half bad when its on there

I don't even get bothered in Va with my exhaust ran out in front of the tire, I have all 4" from the turbo back with a donaldson resonator & 5" tip, if you can get away with it in the fine state of Va you can pretty much run it anywhere in the world!!!!!!! LOL the drone even with a resonator is gonna be a little loud if you hook to a trailer often, that's the only time mine gets annoying, so it's pretty much annoying all the time!! another place to look for the 4" tailpipe section that goes over the axle is Advance Auto, most people don't know about them selling 4" exhaust, but you can order individual pieces from them & the tailpipe piece is under $50, just in case the black wheel/bedside & the noise get too annoying for ya!! good luck, Dusty

Check the local laws about exhaust. Someone posted a little something from Texas (I think) that stated if you have a spinning device (ie:turbo) then no muffler was required.

I've been running 4" straight pipe up here in New England for well over 2 years and have only been looked at funny by the local PD. And that may or not have been caused by the loud exhaust.

I didnt think so because my egts were hard to get to 1400deg even on a long pull. And thats all with a baby pump. Plus I also dont tow or do anything but drive and play around in this truck. That wheel hadn't been washed in probly two months but most of it is due to playing around on the highway where the smoke goes straight back and not out to the side. As it would if I were going slow.

And yes in Texas a turbo is considered a muffling device.

I've found that its all just how you drive. My truck is a heatbag with straight pipe and stacks but its quiet if you just dog it around town.Ive been through roadblocks and the cops never even seen them as they were talking to me at the window of my truck. Also I thought there were laws that your exhaust must exit behind or above the truck?

Only behind or above the cab, not the entire vehicle.
