If you were me what would you get
OK Guys and Gals here is my question. As you can see by my signature I have the HO truck and I want to get a performance box for it (eg. ez comp, edge) I want to be able to ajust it, like what I have seen 5 or 9 ajustments ect. I want the power but still have the reliablity. If I have to turn it off when I tow (which isn't often) to keep the reliabilty then so be it. But I have read the HO doesn't like some boxes because of the timing so I am starting to get lost in all the info I have read. I don't really know all the pros and cons yet but I am learning. So what box should I get? That is the question.
P.S. Intake, gauges and exhaust I know I have to get and are in the works just getting the shopping list together.

It is my understanding that the Edge boxes rely more on timing than fueling where the TST boxes rely more on fueling than timing to bring out the power.
I don't know that timing is so different on the HO, but the VP44 fuel pressures are higher. I have heard that the boxes do not give you as much additional power as advertised when installed on an HO engine.
If the timing is already higher on an HO, then the TST PM3 box should give you more power in the long run. I can't say anything bad about the Edge boxes though. I think the Edge Comp gives you a little finer control of the power if you aren't turning it all the way up.
You can always do the best of both worlds, like I did, and stack and Edge EZ on top of a PM3.
As far as other boxes go, I don't know enough about them to comment. Perhaps someone more knowledgable will chime in.

The ETH responds fine to fueling boxes just not as much HP gain with them compared to an ETC due to the difference in the fuel pumps. That being said I have used several different models on ETH trucks and personally I prefer the Edge Comp...... Most guys are happy with the brand unit they choose but I would not shy away from the Edge products because of timing. Many TST owners run the TST box stacked with and Edge EZ just for added timing with great results.

I believe that when I spoke with Edge they told me that the EZ and the Comp models have the same timing its the fueling enhancements that the Comp models have over the EZ.
Personally I would like to see a timing box that even has more aggressive timing and would continue to add timing until 4000 rpm. Then match this with a Redline fueling box, add good valvetrain components.

Edge comp in my truck. I love it and the powerjokes hate it around my town. Many people feel that the ETH's respond better to injectors than a box. I would suggest a set of mild injectors after a comp. Get the comp for the built in boost fooler and elbow then unleash the beast with some injectors. I have mach 1.5's on the way and are dying to get em in. Now all I need is $907 for the Con OFE from Rod. Anyone wanna make some donations my way?!!?
