how much for VE pump re-seal??

Im getting a leak, (I think its the controll valve, but cant really tell) I would like to get a seal kit and re-seal it. BUT... After seeing what it takes to remove the ve pump, Im a little scared to take it on myself. My question is, Does anyone know what it generally costs to have a mechanic put in a new seal kit? It might be my best bet.

Thanks in advance.

a local fuel injection shop quoted me $400-$450 for a complete reseal. of course that wouldn't cover any hard internal parts if any were needed. the seal kit is only $16. DGK-121.

do you think that seal kit DGK-121 will fit my 4BT ROTARY pump.. and I think the last oil 12v pump we did at work we charged about 9 hours to do ..No one remembered how ..and it did take a while ..If yours is the 93 in profile I say 450.00 would be a good price .

Depends. Is it a Bosch VE rotary, or another make? If it is a VE, does it have an AFC housing on top?

If you go to 4btswaps.com they will be able to tell you better. They even list the right kit number for the 4bt bosch ve pump. Who knows, you could even have a P pump on your 4bt.

If it is your control valve you do not need an entire reseal kit to fix it, it is only 4 o-rings you can get from most o-ring kits and should cost less that a dollar if you need to buy them.

I think mine is leaking on the no. 50 hyd head .. ahead of the D Bracket. I've been looking for a write up on fixing it at that location.. I think it's just O Rings but does the injection pump have to come off .. I'd sure rather not pull it.

Thanks Jim,
I am going to try that before I send it in. I found out that it will cost me $545 to have it re-callibrated and new seals put in. And $300 for the local shop to remove my pump and put it back on.

When I posted this I had just fixed the leak from the "low preassure fuel line" and the leak behind the pump was bad...BUT!... It has stopped leaking now.... just out of the blue. It leaked some the other morning but just a little, then it hasnt leaked since. Its like it needed to heat up or something, I will keep an eye on it, and if it leaks again I will first try the Controll valve, then I guess its off to the bank with a mask!
