Highest HP 1st gen

im more into the 2nd generations,

but we currently have three 1st generations too,

so sometimes I wonder,

what is the biggest HP truck out there with a VE pump?

lets say on #2 only

A "smart" guy told me, people in kansas throw the P7100 pump away and put in a hot VE they make the biggest power! over 1000 HP bla bla bla

whats been done to that little pump?

thanks!

Throwing away a P-pump would be stupid. The P-pump will always be capable of making more power than the VE.
All us first gens, kind of like the old trucks and see it as a challenge to make big power with the VE pump.
I believe there are guys that make over 500HP on #2 only.
The VE seems to make more power at low RPM, which shows up as Big torque numbers.

The big advantage for the VE is the mechanical advance. That's why it's better out of the hole and quieter than an advanced PE.

The highest HP VE powered truck is KTA Cummins over at Diesel Central. Running a 14mm plunger that he had made. Putting down something around or over 600hp.

Actually, KTA only did 627 on #2; Stomp did 640 on #2 and 680 with w/m. Both were with 14mm plungers.

There has also been another guy that got over 600 hp with the 14mm VE. OldSmoky, but he sold his first gen. Currently I guess I am still at the top, but Brian is planning on building a motor so who knows what that will bring?? He is pretty much the man when it comes to these pickups.

The 12mm pump caould be set up to right around 500hp. I just took off my latest 14mm pump and put on a stock pump. I am going to try and see what I can get out of it.
