Question Hello all, 91 non-intercooled questions

I just purchased a 91 CTD and love it!!! I might add only 2 grand for this thing!! I still kept my Yoda for really beating on but I bought this truck with 185k, one owner, only a few scratches on original paint!!! So I'm really interested in putting an aftermarket intercooler... I know a guy who has all the tools, I was looking at the WRX aftermarket kits and they are a over-engine mount. Would this be a good match or should I look at finding one off a newer CTD?? What kind of injectors would you recommend for pulling a horse trailer and such? Also I'm looking at gauges and holders but I don't know enough about them to know what to look for. I'm guessing a Pyrometer, Tach, and Boost?? I also have to go pick up a truck and pull it back here (Bend, Oregon from Redding California. So I really want to get the gauges on before I did that. I will also get some pics of this puppy soon!! Oh and 3,4 or 5 inch exhaust?? Can you ever have to much pipe on these trucks? And what oil is the best match and how much do you change it?? Does anyone run B20 in there 1st gen?? I'm thinking about it...

You want an '00 - '03 7.3 liter PowerStroke intercooler, make sure you get one with aluminum end caps. You will have to do some hacking on the core support but it should fit behind the grill. Over the engine is a bad idea, no room up there anyway.

The stock injectors will give you plenty of fuel.

AutoMeter makes a 2 gauge pillar mount, and there's somebody who makes a 3 gauge on-dash mount.

If you have an auto trans add a trans temp gauge to that list.

You won't find anyone making bigger than a 4" exhaust.

Any name brand 15W-40 diesel rated motor oil will do well. I shop by price. The factory interval is 6k/6 months, nothing wrong with that. You could probably go a lot farther if you wanted, but get oil analysis done to determine that.

Bio and veg oil are not kind to the diaphragm in the lift pump. Be careful.

We have a Custom Exhaust shop here in town and they did the best job with my Yoda... its an 86 with a headman header, and all custom 2.5" to flowmaster, Dual out all tucked up so no water will get there... All of the custom part for $385!!! He owns a 24v CTD dually that he has all sicked out and he drags it!! Sounds like a semi when he starts it!!!
