Harness?

Have the dually in the electric shop. Tried to order a harness from the dealer & it's obsolete. (imagine that) Who makes an aftermarket harness, complete? Who has a decent one? The shop can rebuild it with matching colored wires, heavy duty relays & dump the fusable links, etc., but he told me to be on the lookout for one & just own it for the next time something goes wrong. I have a lot of faith in our local shop. He does fantastic work & has been around for 35 years, but his warning to look for one just to own for in the future makes me think I should. Any advise is welcome & I don't have the time or patience to mess with it myself. Thanks.

Nobody makes a harness for these trucks. As far as the aftermarket is concerned, Dodge started making trucks in 1994.

It seems to me like your local shop is far more capable of building a good wiring system than Chrysler did.

I wouldn't worry about finding another harness; if I wanted a spare, I would just go ahead and have him build TWO while he has his tools out.

I just took apart a gasser for parts and the harness is really, really easy to get out, so if there's one in a junk yard you could get it with a few hours of work.

I totally agree with Bearkiller. The stock harness was woefully inadequete, and after 20 years, it is more so.
If you pull the Harness out and mount it to a piece of Plywood, it is pretty easy to replicate. Plus the stock harness is in sections and when taken apart, it is not so intimidating.
