It's the ratio drive or ratio adapter. I wrestled with that area for two years before I got it working right, and have therefore become an expert in getting it wrong. The problem with the VSS direct on the Getrag output is the speed is 150:100 or 3:2 too fast compared with your road speed, and the cruise control doesn't work, something to do with being in the PCM's evil empire. PM me if you wish as I could write a book on this mess of a convoluted and awkward engineering fix to mixed-era hardware lash-up.

Good luck, .... my closest Dodge dealer couldn't even find a VSS for mine, and assured me the ratio adapter is not available. I got a ratio adapter from my local Stewart - Warner agent for about $130 (Cdn), and it turned out my VSS was OK.

if what you need is the VSS adapter you can order one online from PATC. I ordered one from them back in the winter. I think it's $60-70 plus shipping. About half as much as it costs to get one from the dealership if they can even get one in for you. My local dealership could get me one for the low bargain price of $170. I went the PATC route.

Plug your VSS into the side of the tranny. Drive a known distance, and divide that into miles shown on the odometer. 10mi of interstate mile markers works great.
