VSS question

I am wanting to remove my speed sensor for cleaning. When I started taking it out fluid started running out. I screwed it back in as I wasnt ready to catch fluid. How much fluid will come out.

I've never encountered fluid coming out, leads me to believe your transfer case is overfilled.
