All i got to do is change my main-shaft in my getrag tranny to convert to 4x4 tranny? Do i have to change the bell housing?and if so where can i find a main-shaft for my getrag.Thank you for your time

I believe the tail shaft housing and main shaft need to be swapped out to 4x4 units.
The bell housing is the same for a 2wd or 4x4.
I think I saw a Getrag complete 4x4 case with some internal issues on the 1st gen classifieds right here on DTR in the past week or so.

I love my getrag.never had problem with it.but am I better off going with 2nd Gen nv4500?

Some guys love the Getrag, some the NV.

Unless you are beating on it, or aren't comfortable building the 'Rag, I would probably stay with it.
