Got a '96 motor going

Instead of rebuilding my current motor i ended up getting a 1996 motor out of an auto trans 3500. I got it running on thursday night. Sounds night and day better. Aside from the throttle linkage being different and wiring the fuel shutoff solenoid it is a straight up swap. I just put the intake elbow off of my old motor on the newer motor to get it going. Everything else is pretty straight forward. Runs awesome and the hx 35 sings real loud and pretty. Glad to have my rig back on the road.

Lockup trans too? Either way, you have the best of both worlds now!

motor swap

So this swap is fairly simple? Any fab needed for motor mounts or cooling system? Any wiring difficulties? Thanks for the info. Redwake.

1st gen handle power?

Will the 1st gen frame handle the power of the second gen motor? will a nv5600 fit under the truck?
