Good Master Cylinder Search

Hi guys, Has anybody had experience with Centric master cylinder 130.67006 for a 1992 D250. Centric Parts is out of California. I think their parts are made in Mexico, beats China junk I hope.
Thanks

I just eyeballed a set of Centric shoes. Bought them on the spot, as they were the first shoes I've looked at in years that were actually right.

I've found a parts place that I can trust. The MC that they handle is the RayBestos MC3971. It would be worth asking them about Centric.

I asked them about A-1 Cardone and they said they wouldn't have their stuff in the store. Way too many problems.

Another service they offer is machining an old cylinder to take a custom stainless steel sleeve. #1 it'll be right. #2 it'll be permanent. Not cheap, probably pushing $200. They do a lot of them for the classic car folks.

Give them a call.

IIRC, my neighbor told me about a month ago that he's been working for Centric. I don't recall what he said he does for them but I could pick his brain about their products.

John:

I agree wholeheartedly with their sentiments regarding Cardone. Unfortunately, the only replacement brake vacuum boosters I've been able to find are reman units by Cardone. Do you happen to know if these folks will rebuild a vacuum booster?

Thanks,

Jim

Everyone who's converted to hydroboost seems to love it but there's no "plug-and-play" aftermarket kit available and I'm a bit loathe to get into such an extensive mod so long as my OEM power brakes are still functioning properly.

That said, I'm aware that the unavailability of parts may eventually make some other solution a necessity . When my Cardone reman vacuum booster failed after two weeks, I replaced it with an OEM unit I found sitting on a dealer's shelf somewhere in Kansas. That was four years ago and the OEM units are now all gone.

I install used originals on my trucks, as I don't trust the Cardone garbage.
They might not be covered in fresh paint like the Cardone, but they last longer, and I have access to paint.

They have an outfit down in Texas that rebuilds Vacuum boosters for them. I forget the name, but I looked them up and was pretty impressed.

They didn't have one in stock at the time. I think it was down getting rebuilt. I'm going to do some musical brake parts swapping next week and put a good one I accidentally got from O'Reilly in my main rig, try a used one in the back up truck. Then I'll send the loose one to Brakes and Equipment to have it rebuilt.

If push comes to shove, B&E has a shop where they custom sleeve any MC with a stainless sleeve.

Call them up. I'm sure they can take care of you.
