I changed oil in my trans finally, I put the street L on it and it worked great, only thing is, anyone else who does this should know that it takes quite a long time laying under the truck and holding the quart bottles over you to pour it in. I spent at least half an hour to put 4 1/2 quarts in, thing is I only got 3 quarts out when I drained it, I suppose its been leaking a bit here and there. But the trans seems to be a bit smoother and quieter now though, thanks guys.

I just did mine tonight also. I used the two street L's and then squeezed the funnel between the tranny and the 4x shift lever....... ended up working out fine but like Nathan, I too spent over 1/2 hour filling it.

End result, lot's quieter!

Thanks to all....

I think the factory fil 5w30 will burn up/ blow out if you dont change it regularly. My father has a 92 W350 that is IMMACULATE- no leaks anywhere. Tranny went out at about 50K (he also lugs the life out of it- 35mph and he's in 5th gear with 3.54 gears), adn I'd be willing to bet there was little to no oil. So, oil loss doesnt ALWAYS mean a leak, esp if all is clean under there.

Yeah, I guess it does take a while. I never thought much about the time aspect of it.
