Full power screw question

I initally turned my full power screw 2 turns in when I put the gov spring in. Today I tried to turn it up till the runaway and I could only get 1/2 turn more and the screw just stopped. The truck is showing no signs of runnung away yet. I removed the cover on the screw when I initially turned it up I took the screw out of the pump. I removed the cover and cleaned the threads up with a die. I ran it in and out no problem with the top off the pump then but now it just stops dead. Has anyone had this happen to them? I seem to remember reading somewhere about someone welding something to the end of the screw but I do not know if this is the answer. The jam nut runs freely up and down the screw but it feels like it is bound up in the pump. I even tried working it back and fourth a little and still did not gain at all. Sorry for the long post. Oh and by the way I whipped my wifes V8 grand chreokee tonight the truck is really running good.

I had the same issue. i only got two turns out. The first question people ask is did you take off the lock collar. I was told that some pumps had shorter fuel screws then others did. I think in the sticky there is a thread about lengthening the screw to get more out on it.

the fulcrum leaver can also bottom out in the pump and you can bend it or break it when really cranking in the fuel screw

Thanks alwaysworking I forgot that there was a spot on the screw that has the oring to seal it. I am sure that is what is bottoming out. I am going to legnthen it today but I will be gentle turning it up.

Well i took the full power screw out tonight and tig welded 3/16" on the end. I put ut all back together and adjusted it to half turn from runaway. Wow this thing is getting more and more fun to drive. Plenty of black smoke too. Now to find the guy down the street with that powerstroke. Hahahahaha.
