I do something similar, but use Fuel Power instead of Power Service in the summer. I use a blend of PS (white) and Fuel Power in winter for PS's anti-gel protection. I'm sure I'll have spent enough on fuel adds to buy a new pump and injectors after about five years, but at least it won't be broke down somewhere by then. It shoud be interesting to see how long they last running plenty of adds with the ULSD fuels. I'll go out on a limb now and predict the VE will last just as long or longer than before ULSD, given good aftermaket lubricity.

The guy at the shop where I had my pump rebuilt gave me some good insight on whats happening. He said that they will probably begin seeing VE pump failures on pumps running ULSD with no additives. He sold me a bottle of stanadyne, and it seems to be working fine so far.

I used to run PS, then Howes, and Stanadyne. Now I add a gallon of canola oil and the rest of the time 2% Soy fuel from Cenex

The jug is 96 ounces = three quarts; it takes another quart to equal a gallon.

Tractor Supply has it for some over twelve bucks; but, the best price I have seen is at Rural King; the last sale paper they sent me had the 96 ounce white jug PowerService for eight bucks, half of what Advance Auto gets for it.

Of course, the closest Rural King to me is about two hundred miles, one way.

I scientifically mix eight ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil and twelve ounces of white jug PowerService; then, I pour this mixture into the 32ounce MMO bottles to be mixed with twenty gallons of fuel.

I pour one bottle of my pre-mixed recipe for each twenty gallons showing on the pump.

In the summer, I also dump in filtered used oil, filtered cooking oil, and anything else that is free and will work.
