Fan?

So I called dodge and the local napa and nobody can come up with a fan with part #52026653 in the sticky. Dodge came up with the clutch module#52028760 at a price of $200. Napa has a clutch for $63. I was wanting the upgraded fan but cant seem to find one. Dodge says they have just an OEM for $60. What's up with that? Is a 2nd gen. fan an upgrade and will it fit?

I think I remember someone posting the 2nd gen fan was the only one offered for our square trucks. They have discontinued our metal fans. But I'm old so my memory isn't what it used to be.

I put one on my 89 motor last year. Got it off E-bay...2nd Gen unit. Was in the original Mopar box too...think I paid about $70.

Guess I'll try a Napa clutch first since its $63.00. and check my fan for cracks. U guys that are putting on the 2nd gen fans I see are putting them on non-intercooled trucks. I've read that the backing is different on intercooled trucks. Will a 2nd gen fan fit my truck? And also will i have to get a 2nd gen clutch module due to the extra weight of the 2nd gen fan?
